My Story

Hi there, I’m Janae Ramany, and I basically grew up in a gym. While other kids were mastering the art of riding bikes, I was busy picking up my first dumbbell (priorities, right?). Coming from a family of avid gym-goers and bodybuilders, fitness has always been part of my life. But, as much as I’d love to say I was born lifting weights, it didn’t really hit home until my late teens.

You see, I have a rather rare condition called Ankylosing Spondylitis (try saying that five times fast). It’s a condition that typically strikes men over 35, but I guess I like to be ahead of the curve—I was diagnosed at 14. At first, it wasn’t too big of a deal. But by the time I hit 18, I was in so much pain I could barely take care of myself without help. Fun, right? Here I was, 18 years old, wondering if this was how life was supposed to be. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t.

Now, the (not so) funny thing about Ankylosing Spondylitis is that there’s no cure. The only real way to slow down the whole spine-fusing-together thing is through exercise—specifically resistance training. So, despite the pain, I figured, “Why not? What’s a little more discomfort?” And I dove headfirst into working out. Before I knew it, my pain levels dropped from a daily 9 or 10 to a much more manageable 2 or 3. These days? Most of the time, I’m pain-free.

This personal journey sparked a passion in me, and that’s when I decided to become a personal trainer. At first, it was all about gaining knowledge for myself—learning how to exercise properly, understanding the science behind muscles, and figuring out what would be most effective. I played the role of my own trainer, and let’s just say, the results were life-changing.

As my passion grew, so did my desire to help others. Whether it’s pain management, boosting confidence, or just improving overall health, I knew I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. And I’m happy to say, training clients has been the best decision I’ve ever made. There’s nothing quite like helping someone better themselves and make a lasting lifestyle change.

My Training Philosophy

I believe in a training approach that’s rooted in science, not in quick fixes or fad diets that promise “abs in 5 minutes.” My methods are evidence-based, focusing on practices that have been proven to work over time. I emphasize intuitive eating, where you learn to listen to your body’s needs, rather than following restrictive diets that aren’t sustainable.

Progressive overload is a cornerstone of my training—gradually increasing the intensity of your workouts to build strength and endurance in a safe and effective way. It’s important to understand that losing weight and losing fat are not the same, and I’ll help you navigate that distinction to achieve your goals in a healthy manner.

Every person is unique, which is why I tailor my approach to fit your specific needs, goals, and lifestyle. I’m here to support you not just physically but also mentally, recognizing the importance of a holistic approach to health. My focus is on helping you create sustainable habits that will last long after you’ve reached your initial goals.

I’m committed to being by your side every step of the way, providing the guidance, support, and accountability you need. While I’ll always follow your lead, I’m here to gently steer you in the right direction, empowering you to make the best choices for your body and your life.
